
C. Michial Jones – President
Jones Sensei is a distinguished American martial artist, author, and retired law enforcement officer. He began his lifelong dedication to martial arts in 1977, training initially under his father, Curt E. Jones, before studying with legendary masters such as Glenn R. Keeney, Robert Trias, Eiichi Miyazato, Koshin Iha, Kiichi Nakamoto, Natambu Bomani, Josei Yogi, Kenei Shimabukuro and Hiroshi Ganaha to name a few. A highly decorated competitor, Jones earned an 8th-degree black belt and achieved national recognition, winning numerous state and national championships in the United States Karate Association (USKA), United States Karate-do Kai (USKK), Professional Karate Commission (PKC) and five world kickboxing titles in the 1990s.
As a leader in the global martial arts community, Jones founded the Yushikan karate school in 1994 and served as the North American Representative for Grandmaster Kiichi Nakamoto and Grandmaster Kenei Shimabuku. He has authored several influential books on Okinawan martial arts, including Entering Through the Gateway of Gojuryu, and has shared his expertise through national seminars and television appearances, such as his time as a guest host on Crazy Connie’s Variety Hour. Today, he remains a respected authority on Goju-ryu Karate and Ufuchiku Kobujutsu, blending his expertise in traditional combat with practical defensive tactics instruction for law enforcement.
